Harper update

From Parents.com----

"19 to 24 monthsYour child now understands as many as 200 words, though he'll probably use only 50 to 75 of them regularly. Many of these words will be nouns that designate objects in his daily life, such as "spoon" and "car." Between 18 and 20 months, his pace will pick up as he acquires ten or more new words each day. If he's especially focused on learning to talk, he can add a new word to his vocabulary every 90 minutes — so watch your language!During this phase your child may begin stringing two words together, making basic sentences such as "Carry me." Since his grammar skills are still undeveloped, you'll often hear odd constructions such as "Me go." He's understood for some time that he needs language, and he'll attempt to name new objects as he observes the world around him. He may overextend the words he already knows, though, so that all new animals are called "dogs," for example.Starting around his second birthday, your child will begin using three-word sentences and singing simple tunes. As his sense of self matures, he'll use "me" to refer to himself, and he's likely to tell you what he likes and doesn't, what he thinks, and what he feels. You may hear him say, "David want juice" or "Baby throw," for instance. (Pronouns are tricky, so you may catch him avoiding them.)"

Well Harper is right on track. When we carried her to the Birmingham Zoo in May she was 16months old and calling every animal there a dog. It was so cute.

She has now come a long way. She is putting words together. She can say "roll tide roll!" among other things. What I am working on right now is this thing she does, when she wants something she just goes "unhhh unhh" and expects for us to find it and get it for her. I am explaining to her that she needs to use her words and I will say what she needs to say. It seems to be working well.

We did run into a problem with her biting, even to the extent that I had to go to her daycare when it happened to punish her. I had a stern talk to her and after daycare Drew sat her down and just talked to her like a little adult and well it worked! :-) She has had no problems since then. YAY! Oh we also started calling time out---time out/Auburn. So we say "You dont want to go to time out Auburn" Its too funny!

Lake is getting BIG! He is now 4months old. He has rolled all the way over and we have started him on baby cereal and homwmade baby food...he LOVES it! He is so funny! He has found his feet and started babbling and laughing lots...the sweetest little laugh ever! He also is sleeping very well at night. We have him on a scedule like we did Harper and he seems to be falling right into it...thank goodness! :-)

As far as Drew and I we are doing terrific. Just same ol same ol, working and at the house. We did hang curtians in our room and they look great , (I love that I get suped excited over the smallest things)! We are still planning on going to Mexico next year for a late honeymoon, after tax time...I am so excited to have something to look foward to and we so need it. We miss everyone so much! Come see us!

ONE LOVE!
